The Elephant Whisperer Poem by Ima Ryma

The man devoted his life to
Saving elephants in the wild,
Living among them so to do
A bond with each, adult or child.
The man made a sanctuary
Of many thousand acres for
Hundreds of elephants to be
Able to live for something more
Than suffering at human hand.
The man felt as elephants would.
The elephants did understand
That in this man there did be good.

The 'elephant whisperer' died.
Elephant herds mourned at his side.
