The Egg And Lie Poem by Ima Ryma

The Easter Bunny happened to
Meet a chicken crossing the road.
The hen did look a little blue.
And so the Easter Bunny showed
A brightly colored egg he had,
And asked if the hen would please take
This egg and the hen was so glad
Of such a nice gesture to make,
That she did plant a thank you peck
Upon the Easter Bunny's cheek,
But knowing she would face some heck
When her rooster did get a peek.

So later when confronted by
Her rooster, the hen laid a lie.
