The Empty Chair Poem by Alison Fae

The Empty Chair

Rating: 5.0

Across the room sits an empty chair;
It's been a while since you sat there.
I look across the darkening sky
And wonder why you said goodbye.

As I sit on the dock i cry
My tears filling up the dark night sky.
I sit and cry and lie awake
My mood echoing the thunder over the lake.

I lost my friend that dreadful day
I prayed to God for you to stay.
I promise I will weep until the end,
Because of the day i lost my friend.

Touching because of the warm ' from the heart' wording....good work! Keep it up! Wayne

Heartfelt and sincere. It's nicely written and to the point.
