The End Of A Battle Poem by Polina Sidorov

The End Of A Battle

What is this I am seeing?
the fields turned red,
the blood had been spilled on the cold gravel.
The fighters are peacefully lying to their death bed
and their pure spirits have yet to travel.
The silver uniforms are coloring the field
that spreads as far as the eye's able to see.
Mortals were crushed and brutally killed,
So for many generations the kingdom will be free.
Angles are watching from a high, white cloud,
until the last fighter takes his last breath.
The fighting spirits the humans had endowed
backfired and lured them to their death.
Blood was spilled with a sword in evil's hand.
and for what? it's all for the sake of a land

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Just a little Sonnet I wrote for my English class. It portrays the ugly side of wars. Give me a comment for the imagery, Because that's the thing I want to portray most in my poems. I hope you like it! !
