The Exiled Wounds Poem by Asma Khan

The Exiled Wounds

No one sees the pain in my eyes
many suns and moons may come by
the heart plays dead and gone
until the cruel pain dies

You discovered many galaxies, but I
the echos took you back
to walk alone for a mile
but you never looked for my name in the sky

You shine forth even after you are gone
this is no story,
no odyessy to forget
when all pages are torn

inevitable sorrows are poured over us
we flip, dip and cover our shadows
with gray and green grass
yet solutions, we don't like to discuss

Talk to me in reflections pitched with confused tone
dust the doubts away as they shall be blown
feed the memories, but fear
for they don't go away once grown

You inspired me to live alone after you
just like petals kissed by the dew
in the hope of flowers as new
nothing worst, but my own heart to chew

I named you with all my favorite names
yet you lay on me so many blames
I only wanted to hear you, but
your silence burnt me in smokeless flames!
