'The Falling Snow' (Dedicated To The Holocaust) Poem by Kevin Wang

'The Falling Snow' (Dedicated To The Holocaust)

It's been so long,
since there was even peace.
as I break open the blinds from my eyes,
to the new changed world,
full of promises,
and yet where is this?
what is it?

look to our left,
look to our right,
walk in zigzags,
as I could never forget the first time.
the first look on this forsaken camp,
where I took my first step into.

what lingers upon this land,
of once beauty and bloom,
and yet I feel glued down to my knees in prayer,
of what I once believed in up there.

hopefully there my father or mother,
brothers or sisters will not end up,
like the others in the air.
what seems like snowflakes but breaks open my heart, my belief,
are the human ashes withering away.
