The Forgotten Lipstick Poem by Paula Glynn

The Forgotten Lipstick

Rating: 5.0

The lipstick once vibrant fuchsia
Now left faded and smeared
On those lovely and luscious lips
Lips that spoke romantic words
Lips that spoke truth and were always heard

But now memories are only memories
The relationship dead and over
Where once thought lucky
Like a four leaf clover
But now heartache is here and romance over

Where once dates underneath the moon
Magical nights over and done with
Gone all too soon
But even with every bright night moon
Memories linger and love blooms

Two people once so in love
Now over and broken
Their affection gone
When push comes to shove
Their love no longer soul deep love

They shared kisses and affection
They were ultimately destined
Like a president winning an election
But their powerful love doomed
Even after all those nights under the magnetic moon

They shall move on but never forget
Their love they will never regret
For new lovers shall come along
Their hearts still strong
And hearts that treasure all loves

Because life is about change
And broken romances
In this regard are the same
The always forward clock ticks on
And broken hearts do move happily on.
