The Future Elite Poem by Elizabeth Sheaffer

The Future Elite

Rating: 5.0

The voices meld together,
swirling through my brain as
I sit, silent and
alone with my thoughts.
This place is so
mundane, with its people
all the same, and their
empty words ringing
through my skull.
I feel so out of
place among these people,
all the same, full of
gossip, lies, and meaningless
chatter. It fills my ears
and mixes together, the
melancholy song of
society's future elite. This
is what we have to
look forward to? These
are the people who will
save our society?
What a miserable future!
