The G String

Philanthropist to the masses
Nemesis to modesty
An epitome of sublime symmetry
A statement bold and intrepid
Sweet candy for the beholder

Yet amidst the bare and frail
Are tides of sodden mirth
Not just to the ogling spectator
But to the toying body
And her ecstatic soul

Poem of the Day

poet Henry David Thoreau

My books I'd fain cast off, I cannot read,
'Twixt every page my thoughts go stray at large
Down in the meadow, where is richer feed,
And will not mind to hit their proper targe.
