The Gamble Of Love Poem by Axiom Wheeler

The Gamble Of Love

Rating: 5.0

INTRO:
You pushed, you pushed me.
You pushed, you pushed me.

VERSE 1:
You pushed me away, acting like I was too close to you.
You made me relocate, treating me like a part you didn’t use.
This little bit of reality, it rents me to shreds.
Our lack of responsibility, it makes us sit here, not ahead.
If we had good reasoning, then I wouldn’t be here in this nest.
I’m just glad to say that I gave this love my best.

CHORUS:
Love’s a gamble, and the game says you hold ‘um all.
I tried to buy the pot but the players caught my stall.
Your romance was a game, but I folded like a flash.
I can hear your winning call, it’s saying take me back.
The game is over. The game is done.
The game is over, and none of us have won.

VERSE 2:
You act like I’m scum, making me into a child’s toy.
I make it look like, I was just an innocent boy.
Our separate paths are set, and our roads are opposite.
I know what was wrong, neither one of us could commit.
In the great scope of things, I think it was a waste.
I’m truly sorry that I gave this love a taste.

VERSE 3:
You had to deal the cards, and I had to make the bets.
I just thought that things of thievery were better left unsaid.
It not understandable to some but you hear the words.
It’s not my fault that the chips and hands were so absurd.

The game is over. The game is done.
The game is over, and none of us have won.
