So this garden, we only stumbled upon
At the Capital's corner, last Sunday morn
When browsing with hotel's WiFi Internet
In search of a peaceful 'site-seeing spot'
Didn't realise what was for us in store
Went just by what was there on offer
Till we reached there by the Metro train
The garden that bright late-winter morn
A quaint park with well-arranged rocks
Well-kept, in bloom, many varied flowers
Trees, shrubs, statues, many art modern
Many an eye-pleasing artistic creation
But the young couples, in quite a number
Was something we weren't prepared for
Most seemed to me like college students
All in their youth: early- to mid-twenties
Not sure if it was due to the nippy weather
Or many a varied bright-coloured flower
Or just their expressions of 'true love'
That so pervasively manifested anyhow
Beneath each and every tree, shrub, bush
Some not even secluded, much in rush!
In each-other's arms, cuddled they were
Hugs, kisses, romance in warm love fever
Loudly chirping hordes of birds on trees
Or the drone of aircraft in clear-blue skies
Didn't at all disturb the many lovers in pair
They were too busy; of the world not a care!
Poor guards, they looked distant in blush
Signboards, for restraint, mere hogwash!
Also saw a few from Lonely Hearts' Club!
Out of hangover from last night's pub?
My daughter and her astonished father
Prepared for these that we were never
I hurriedly held this was sheer nonsense
That esoteric park's name: 'Five Sense'
My mind, for few moments, it did incense
The park lovers' utter lack of 'civic sense'
But we then ignored the multitudes in pair
And enjoyed the beauty of art-n-nature
In February, they say 'love is in the air! '
Valentine's Day's just around the corner
Those scenes from that off-track garden
In my mind for days continued to remain!
