The Girl Inside Me Poem by Hannah Danielle

The Girl Inside Me

The girl inside me is not my friend.
She's scared, lonely, hurt; endless pain.
Torn apart by that thing called 'love.'
This broken heart of hers to mend.

He promised her freedom and happiness.
A life full of wonder.
'Together forever! ' He said.
But all he left her with was sadness

Cheated, mistreated; emotionally abused.
She wonders if it will ever end?
The lies he told her of the feelings he felt.
Now she realizes how much she was used.

But she never lets it show!
No she cant and she wont.
Determined to keep that smile,
So nobody will know.

She will keep this secret, till the day she dies.
Hidden inside her.
Buried beneath everything else.
Covered by fake smiles and lies.
