In the dusk
images of another time
pass before our eyes,
images
always shared
wrapped in the gold of the years.
Like beautiful photographs
before the two of us,
observers and protagonists
of a silken twist
hidden beneath
an amber weaving.
Our hands remain enlaced:
meanwhile, lamps are lit,
we look at each other.
We have not changed so much,
time has left us
the brightness of our glance,
and joyful laughter,
with the complicity of some words.
Traslated from Spanish to English by Daniel Ginhson with comments by Sue Littleton:
En la penumbra pasan las imàgenes
ante nuestros ojos
de otro tiempo,
siempre compartido
arropado por el oro de los años.
Como bellas fotografìas
frente a los dos,
observadores y protagonistas
de una trama escondida
bajo urdimbre de àmbar.
Nuestras manos continuan unidas
mientras se encienden las luces;
nos miramos.
no hemos cambiado tanto,
el tiempo nos dejò
el fulgor en la mirada,
y la risa diàfana,
con la complicidad de unas palabras.
