The Great Gift Of Life Poem by Francis Duggan

The Great Gift Of Life

Rating: 5.0

To Nature we all have to return one day
And what matter to us where our remains will lay
When we won't see the flowers in bloom or hear the birds sing
Isn't the gift of life such a beautiful thing.

The beauty that Nature's Goddess does create
Is something we should feel glad to celebrate
We are witness to her amazing creative powers
In her trees, waterways and her beautiful flowers.

The great gift of life cannot be bought or sold
And though only the healthiest do live to be old
You should make the most of your given time span
And the idea is to live for as long as you can.

You may have to try to sleep hungry at night
And the future for you may not look very bright
But for many the will for to live far outweighs their despair
And when life's at it's toughest they just hang in there.

Like all things of life on us a use by date
So our great gift of life we ought to celebrate
And to an old age most would love to survive
It is a great feeling just to be alive.
