The Great Martyrs To Freedom Poem by Dr PJ Raj Kamal

The Great Martyrs To Freedom

The kings of demons
Are still at large
The devils incarnate
and a thousand dreams
fall apart
Who mourns our children
gone too soon
Oh! the golden days
of heaven
bygone
Those born
in God's own image
Flesh and blood
of our own
Abused and killed
Oh! shame on us!
shame!
great shame!
countrymen

Who mourns our children
gone too soon
Oh! our adorable
innocents
so sweet
lured into brutal murder
Lured by a toffee or toy
the price
of their precious lives
And lured away
from their
mothers' bosoms forever
And not even
far away
from the fluttering tricolor
in the heart
of their motherland
That they kept
close to their little hearts
Oh! shame on us!
shame!
great shame!
countrymen

Who mourns our children
gone too soon
Oh! many an awesome
spring
foregone
Who swore to wipe away
their mothers' tears forever
Singing
so deep from heart
the rhymes
of virtue and love
so loud to their world
And who resolved
to change the destiny
once for all
of their motherland
Learning
by heart and soul
the stories of patriots
The rhymes of history
Oh! shame on us!
shame!
great shame!
countrymen

Who mourns our children
Gone too soon
And very soon forgotten
Oh! so quick to requite
their longing
to belong
to their own little world
A free and safe world
Their love
so pure
and pristine
as the fine
drops of morning dew
For us
each other
and their own motherland
Our miserable
little patriots
The great martyrs
To freedom!
Oh! shame on us!
shame!
great shame!
countrymen
