The Holy Bible Word For Word! Poem by Denis Martindale

For many months, the scholars shared the Scriptures old and new,
So that each verse was then prepared, to guide men what to do.
Interpretations came to mind, when thoughts weren't crystal clear,
The nearest meanings they could find, were cherished as most dear.
And from the skills of penmanship came great calligraphy,
From heart and mind to nib and tip creating artistry.
And as the months turned into years, none thought it wasted time,
From page to page, as each appears, Man's finest and sublime.

Men did their best for this great quest, to save lost souls from Hell,
No greater cause has thus impressed, no greater hope to tell.
To think, the Son of God once died upon the Cross of Christ,
The finest man was crucified, for our sins sacrificed.
Amazing grace for us was shown through sinless blood Christ shed,
Amazing grace from Heaven's Throne raised Jesus from the dead.
The Holy Bible word for word, God's triumph, good as gold,
No wonder millions have been stirred by the greatest story ever told.
