Yesterday was so full of hopes
everyone had their dreams up to their brims;
suddenly came a storm so rare
suddenly came a virus so worldwide and unfair;
each one felt so humble and so helpless
each one asked could life be so unworthy and reckless;
wherever they walked, wherever they sat
no freedom to think, no freedom to sleep;
the virus was such a threat, such a fear
no one could escape, no one could dare;
the hopes of yesterday were so lost
as people kept staying indoors to escape its wrath;
nothing has ever been so difficult to comprehend
no big mystery has ever remained unsolved;
as time will pass, love and life will flourish again
and the dreams of hopes will begin to overflow its brim.
