If there was someone
who made me find
an apple in the eye,
a needle in a haystack,
a jewel in the crown,
a flower in a desert,
it was you, just you...
if you were the mirror
I was that prism
on the chandelier,
if you were that galaxy
I was only a star
but you were never knowing
in your eyes, ears and mind
how others felt an elation
when true talent
you pointed out:
for that pearl to be in that oyster
no genius could ever judge
but you found someone
who was walking
in your footsteps
and you knew our journey
was the same
the journey of poetry.
