The House
The house is much the same
Years after I saw it again
The mango tree is still there
The jasmine and hibiscus plants
Standing in courtyard.
The sofa, the cot and the old chairs
Rekindled my childhood memories.
So many years have gone by
Like us
The sofa and cots
Have grown older.
Need they require dusting
Or new paints
I do not know
But they are full of life
As they bear the smell and touch
Of my beautiful days.
After some days
The house may come down
To give shape to a new building
The old cots and chairs will go
To make room for new furniture
But the house will remain the same
Always, in my memory lane.
