The Hunter Poem by Ana Z. M.

The Hunter

Rating: 5.0

Deep in the jungle of your confused soul,
you can see a man carrying a rifle,
you start noticing in his eyes something unfamiliar,
a look of mystery, he must be searching for something.

You start trembling,
your knees are now an earthquake,
everything shakes but this man,
now you realize what you feel is fear.

Pointing with the rifle, he starts walking in circles.
What is he looking for? Is he close to his prey?
Then quickly he directs his rifle at your heart.
He has just tasted the sweet smell of your fear.

Your heart stops beating,
The hunter has shot you,
with your last breath you can see how a smile drew on his face,
all he did was hunt you down as if you were part of the game.

dedicated for all who had felt like a prey in a hunter's life....
