AT the last, tenderly,
From the walls of the powerful, fortress'd house,
From the clasp of the knitted locks--from the keep of the well-closed
doors,
Let me be wafted.
Let me glide noiselessly forth;
With the key of softness unlock the locks--with a whisper
Set ope the doors, O soul!
Tenderly! be not impatient!
(Strong is your hold, O mortal flesh!
Strong is your hold, O love!)
I think that we all, in a way, feel the same. Like we're being trapped and we can't let anybody know how we really feel or we'll lose a part of ourself. Whitman really hit the nail on the head with this poem and its ability to speak universally.

I totally agree with you Nicole. I think that we all have problems, and feel like there is no solution, but lots of times we dont' let people know what's going on. This is a very true and good poem.
