The Inefficiency Of Poetry Poem by Michael Marrotti

The Inefficiency Of Poetry

Rating: 4.8

This
despicable
world is spinning
out of control
there's not
a poet alive
who can do
a thing about it

We keep
orchestrating
these little word's
thinking it's gonna
make a difference

The system won
all you need is love
tell that to
John Lennon
if you believe
in the second
amendment

Still I waste
my time
with this
dying art form
ripping holes
in my flesh
to expose this
sentimental blood

There's a point
at the bottom
of this pen
I can't say
the same
for this
inefficient poem

Lovely piece of poetry, insightfully brought forth in good diction with conviction. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing Michael. Please read my poem POETIC MASTERPIECE.

Must agree with my friend, Kelly, below...Sometimes words do make or can make a difference, if delivered in a way that captures interest be it for good or questionable reasons...Donald Trump is the flipping paradigm for my philosophy...Who woulds' figured...17 CANDIDATES UP...17 CANDIDATES DOWN...who's left in the end to be nominated, but a wealthy contractor who for better or worse...may make a big difference on his speak! Nice Work ~FjR~

I'm going to bypass the political rhetoric and merely say thanks.

Words are a poor excuse for expressing thoughts, but for now, They're all we have. Well penned, Michael
