The Journey Poem by J.B. LeBuert

The end result is not what we should seek.
It's the path that we travel, the strong and the weak.
Life's course is hard for the most of us.
It's not supposed to be easy, so stop the fuss.

You don't build character sitting on your butt.
You must travel the long winding road, to make the cut.
There are no short cuts to real honor and trust.
Keep your word always; that is a must.

Carry honesty and integrity with you.
You are your word, in everything you do
Your journey is a period for gradual growth.
Take along a work ethic and fortitude, both.

With each step you take, build courage
With each step you take, don't discourage.
Ask the Lord for help, She'll give it.
Ask the Lord for guidance, you'll receive it.

Never, ever give up your morals or pride.
There's more to you, than you realize inside.
The journey of a thousand miles starts with the first step.
Persevere through the struggle with vim vigor and pep.

The journey is your chance to prove that you fought.
Remember the lessons that your parents taught.
Help others along the way on the road.
They'll return the favor and lighten your load.

The journey of a lifetime is hopefully long.
Take it in stride, and each day sing a song.
