The Last Goodbye Poem by steven michael pena the black winged angel

The Last Goodbye

Silence is the sound that echoes through the summer winds
Cold and empty is the heart that you’re leaving never saying anything
Run away as far as your eyes can see
The heart now suffers from misery
It cries it weeps and now it will begin to shriek
Is this act a part of your mystique
Please don’t leave me alone this time
Read my lips don’t cross that line
For alone ill be again
Stuck in a cycle with no end
I feel as though the world will end
If you leave me alone now my friend
And if you should just chose to stray
Ill hold this cross at night and pray
For your return to our sacred place
The day I get to see your face
We’ll spin and laugh and dance and cheer
For to my heart you will again be near
No more negative thoughts of sorrow
For I will see you again tomorrow
In the sun we stay together
Like two birds of a feather
We soar up high on the swing
And watch as leaves dance in the wind
We’ll enjoy our time in this light
For you must take your leave tonight
Though you’ll leave me alone I won’t cry
Because I’m sure this isn’t our last goodbye
Fur sure ill see you again tomorrow
As we ride toward the place so hallow
That impure souls must all retreat
And the innocents can safely sleep
Your hand in mine and mine in yours
Hearts together at the core
Our innocence is never ending
Yet I feel that some things pending
I forgot it’s almost night
The sun is setting this beautiful twilight
Now we watch as the sun sets
But you can’t leave me no not yet
There’s still much to do and see
You must stay don’t go please
But you must I understand
As I regretfully release your hand
As we part our ways ill try not to cry
Ill try to remember that this isn’t our last goodbye
