The Last Kiss Poem by Subarna Chakraborty

The Last Kiss

Rating: 5.0

If I could make a Retreat
In the days of river and mountain,
You were waiting for me
I got back to you after a long time.

If I could make a retreat
Before the school, beneath the tree,
You were standing there
For wish me a happy new year.

If I could make a retreat
In the depth of jungle behind the school,
You were sitting lonely
Claiming to see me on my bicycle.

Do these same thoughts also harass you?
During a long time? Even now?
Do you also feels helpless?
And blames to my flaw?

I know. You never changed your phone number.
Until, I left you for lifetime.
You were still waiting for my call,
To pick the phone in one tone.

Now the matter is something different
And I want you to know.
I want to explain how emotions have gone away from me
How I've played in winter with snow.

If I could make a retreat
What would the better thing?
Winter would go far away from me
By giving the gift of Spring.

I could remember the day
I was in your lap.
It felt like no one, never,
Loved me in this way from depth.

You have kissed three times in my cheeks
The last one stands on my lips.
Several times I engage with life
Still unable, forgetting The last kiss.

I thought I could make things better
Everything is now shatter.
I've chased the shadows out of fear
Of being alone, crazy, falling into tears.

I know I could never make a retreat
It never would be the same place.
You'll never wait from me there
Your melody will never play with grace.
