The Long Blink Poem by Samantha Cooney

The Long Blink

Rating: 5.0

Red brake lights glare,
Thinking of no ones cares.

The mind starts to sleep,
When I take another long blink.

Scared and shaking at the wheel,
Bearing all inside and thanking god I am still alive.

Realizing now how lucky I am,
That day a guardian angel must have flew my way.

Taking each day as slow as I can,
Knowing now to be focused and awake this I understand.

There are ones out there I know that really care,
With my tearing up when I think of that day's sleepless glare.

Blink of darkness was my fear,
But an angel was flying near.
