The Longest Stare Poem by Stacy Brown

The longest stare
occurred
one night after
an argument.
I got in the
shower,
cried till I
almost Passed out,
Then took a
Look
At my Body,
a long cold stare.
Every imperfection spotted,
every painful
memory brought
back to life
Thoughts running
through my
mind, crazy
notions that
never would have
been.
If i would have
never
looked that deep
in to my soul.
The longest stare
occured

That never
should have
happened
but it took that
to finally notice
the real me.
