The Look In Your Eye Poem by Milo Lone Elk

The Look In Your Eye

I kick the dirt for the last time
Watching the sun fall in my mind
I remember the look in your eyes
How beautiful it was
Gleaming with love as it reflects our love of tides
How it change colors on me
It's all there is in the world I want to see
It was the sight of God
How God-giving it was
That it shine with angels
Over my head they float above
If I told you once, I told you hundreds of times
That nothing matches with the beauty of your eyes
So when they shed the crying tears
I will wipe them away for years and years
When they are sad with lies
I will remind them that our love won't die
When they are frightened with chilling fright
I will look through them until everything is alright
But when they are tired of this world,
Don't care all the way to the ending door
I will still remember that the eyes you behold
Is the love of the life I still want to hold
