The Lost Heart Poem by KristaLee Ranglack

The Lost Heart

I sit here, covered in dirt
Feeling alone and jaded
My doubts are floating
He says he loves me
He says he wants to stay
But for what?
To torture me, use me
Abuse me, toss me
Same song and dance
I need to do something
I cannot allow this anymore
This time will be different
My heart is no longer his
I now hold my heart again
He can't hurt me any longer
These tunnels are dark
I see the light behind me
I turn around and run for
The light as fast as I can
He will never hurt me again
