The Lost Soul Poem by R S

The Lost Soul

Rating: 5.0

I wondered and wondered what interests you
I wondered and wondered what amuses you

I wondered what dreams and fantasies you have
I wondered what hopes and desires you crave

I wondered how I could get close to you and know you more
I wondered what this friendship is about and what it bore

Although I had never before treaded on this shore
Out of curiosity I wanted to know what it has in store

Knowing the only thing I might gain could be a cry
I eventually gave it a try

Until I realized all had been in vain
The thought of making it possible was so insane

Nothing seemed to work as you found me interesting no more
It had left me with nothing but a big cold sore

Losing confidence as I have never been rejected
Retreating back to heal what had been affected

Hurting my ego and most of all my pride
For the failures are all from what I have tried

Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all
