The Lurker Below Poem by Haitham Mansour

The Lurker Below

Thick the Skin and Dense the Bone
Going on and on Alone
Sinking Down the Lake so Deep
Down to Where the Lurkers Sleep

Creeping Down unto My Knees
All the Way to Where I Please
Till My Bones Collapse and Break
Till There's Nothing Left to Fake

Forcing Bomb Shells Down My Throat
All the Needs and Hopes I Sought
Martyrdom for Mortal Sakes
Till the Sleeping Fiend Awakes

Hewn the Bone and Torn the Skin
Leave Me Pay for My Own Sin
Leave Me Drown in Shadows Deep
A Lurker Where the Dark Things Sleep
