The Majesty Poem by Joan Marques

The Majesty

Unfathomable and deceptively placid
Lies the majesty of Gaea, our planet
Source of life, precipitator of death
Vehicle, friend, foe, opportunity and thread
Well of mystery, harbor of obscurity
Carrier of history, absorber of alleged indestructibility
Inspirator of art, instigator of fear
Humanity's undeniable frontier
Demander of reverence
Commander of existence
Oasis of time, space, dreams, and motion
The imperishable, unconquerable ocean...
