The Man With X-Ray Hearing Poem by Joe Fraccalvieri

The Man With X-Ray Hearing

He was an average man who had ‘X-ray Hearing'…
Able to see
through what people say

He could tell the difference
between the truth and a lie
as distinctly as night and day

He didn't have to be close to them…
He could tell from just watching TV
When the president said he wouldn't raise taxes,
it was a lie that was easy to ‘see'

"Read my lips, " the president added
making fools out of you-- out of me

But he could hear the president's promise
was nothing short of a lie
Had he the power to soar through the air,
he'd have written his fate in the sky

Had he lived at the time of Jesus--
Had he been able to look into his eyes--
When Jesus spoke to the multitudes,
with his power of X-Ray Hearing,
he'd have known that his words weren't lies

But the gift that he had served no purpose…
It was something only he would really know

If there had been a way
of presenting some proof
there would be those
who would not believe,
even so
