The Message Poem by V. T. Bullock

The Message

I love you more than words can say
So don’t you go away!
Sometimes I love you, sometimes I hate you
You make me crazy, you make me angry
So why can’t I stop lovin’ you?

You’re my best friend, you’re my worst enemy
You changed my life in a New York minute
I dunno how I got myself so wrapped up in it.
Your love, your touch, your presence
You’ve given me so much confidence
But at the same time
You make me crazy, you make me angry
So why can’t I stop lovin’ you?

You left me without even sayin’ Good Bye
Not one work, not even a lie.
How could you treat me this way?
But somehow I love you anyway
You make me crazy, you make me angry.
So why can’t I stop lovin’ you? ?

You came back, on your knees sayin’ sorry
“Now, now baby don’t you worry”
I ain’t comin’ back to you
I asked you to stay and what did you do
You take off without even sayin’ a word
Now get off your knees and stop askin’ for me back
We’re done, we’re through, and that’s it, that’s all
But when you call
The message you’ll leave will be
“You make me crazy, you make me angry!
So why can’t I stop lovin’ you? ”
