The Mind Of A Champion Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

The Mind Of A Champion

The mind of a chamipon,
Remains to stay...
Feeling challenged.
And pressured by naysayers.
Looking through microscopes...
For any hint of a blemish to mention.
With a doing to expect,
Each presentation of a performance...
To be flawless and much better done,
Than any before to be judged as perfect.

But the mind of a champion,
Is never kept satisfied...
By receiving previous accolades.
Or a flattery given one's ego saves.
Just to achieve what others may perceive,
To be a perfection to accept as incredible.
Oh no. It is the mind of a champion,
That wishes to leave those in disbelief.
With their mouths and eyes opened wide.
And sitting in shock glued unable to move.
