A dot in the sky, it's full tonight
Caught in our gravity, reflecting the light
Craters adorn it, like battle scars
Meteors feed of it, like they do on mars
It stares at us through many eyes
Unable to speak, harboring its cries
It's our lonely rock in the sky
Patiently waiting for its time to die.

I will never quite look at the moon the same again; it does look like it is waiting there for something, ever so ready to change to receive it, but then it also looks like it is laughing all the time.
