The Morning After

The T-shirt you wore
Won’t just wash
The sheets you laid on
Just refuse to spread
The morning fresh air
And your lingering scent
Seem to clash
And the bristles of your
Toothbrush just feels dead
Each time you leave



The water heater
no longer gives off heat
The picture on the wall
Now sort of looks moody
The sweet music we shared
No longer has rhythm nor beat
And the usual brightness from
The sun, all of sudden
Becomes gloomy
Each time you leave


No amount of sugar
for my coffee
would be enough
The wall clock is stuck at 7
As hours go by
The iron can’t just get the
Creases to go off
And the plants in the garden
Just stay dry
Each time you……………
