The New Book Poem by nasir Uddin ahmed

The New Book

The New Book
Nasir Uddin Ahmed Numan

You are not a stranger but you are
For any length of time
make a voyage to the unknown
Everything is unknown, for you never know
What is real
The whole nature of this earth is to change
Change what you see today
For, tomorrow there is a new version
From the Dark Continent
to the enlightened one
One night's dream is not the same for the next
Like the migrant birds you remain
what you were
But the landscape changes
Your soul searches for the benevolence
The old story takes a new view
The black gods go to hibernation
The new one shines
The East or the West keeps their eyes
in the mirror
The same mirror changes
It marvelously produces and reproduces
The Bay you see, is not far away
You are left desolate
The wide ocean is the new book
The book, that lures you to the eternal.
