The New World Poem by dave lessard

The New World

Rating: 5.0

When you and I were young, love
the pulse of life was fine
the pace of life was gentle
most days, the sun would shine.

The people grew together
not scattered far apart
family love was strong
when did division start?

It started with divorce
and the right to kill a seed
by woman who were pregnant
with no thought of the deed.

With power and corruption
with morals tossed away
with the death of ethics
when people had no say.

Now, were old and feeble, love
too soon, we'll fade from view
to be forgotten with the rest
in a world we never knew.
