The Only Addiction I Need Is You(My Meth) Poem by Leonard Dantzler

The Only Addiction I Need Is You(My Meth)

Hello again to my addiction, know I'm only here for your golds
Dull the world with an intent look
And hypnotize only me once more
Selfish only for the bronze pearls that fell from heaven
Eyes golden like Autumns children, Only to Turn as brown as my skin
Does it vary from day to day? Mood to mood?
But you, too, have a smile that Aphrodite pleaded for
And I, your Ares, will fight wars for your eyes
Eyelashes hit the ground only to kiss the sky
And if I go blind, I'd still argue to you the beauty of your eyes
Eyes that distracted Superman from Lois and made him fly to a planet long ago diminished
I watched a King bite his tongue as he stared at your picture, not even your physical
Eyes w/the inability to touch yet so forceful
Houdini disappeared behind your amber gems
How repetitive it would be for me to call you beautiful?
Just about how many times have you heard it today alone?
I know nothing of you and this is all that is important of me
I am these words, every letter down to the typos
I see a demon lurking beneath your eyes or is that my reflection?
I find myself lost and not wanting to return, but this maze is just your eyes
I subconsciously find your face w/o a conscience
I stare into your eyes and find a stranger I would like to know
The illusion of an angel hints in your smile
While the devil plays on your lips
