The Oppressing Soul Tie Poem by Jenna Lyn

The Oppressing Soul Tie

Grief embraces the pit of my stomach as I look in your eyes
Wanting so badly to ease your pain, I see you’re dying inside
Guilt strangles the life from you, making it hard to breathe
So why is it, I feel what you feel, a soul tie without peace
You’ve tried to hang on; I read your soul, yet vague burdens persist
Don’t come down this road, go back, be warned, to which did you dismiss
Your eyes tell a story, and yours are searching, searching for the unknown
A judge named a verdict, the good became wrong, for this were you dethroned
Unresolved tension from accused frames, have left you with much pain
I’ll be your advocate, in secret or public, on your behave, I receive blame
I place my blessing on your shoulders, you know what to do
Run with your calling, run with the secret I taught to you
Don’t allow the present to be destroyed by the past
Nor thinking on the future, for you have today in your grasp
I understand your pain; know why you self medicate
Wanting so badly the help, you make it obvious to demonstrate
Close your eyes, I’ll use mine for you
Unleash your worry; where you’ve been place is brand new
