The Other Side Poem by Margarita Cortés

The Other Side

In the darkness I searched,

only to be greeted by my shadow!

What a strange shadow!

Filled with sorrow and despairs,

Filled with loneliness and fears,

A lot of of hurt had filled it from past years.

But a bit hope glimmered under all its tears!

So I asked it why it stared, why it hurt,

and why it feared?

As I listened closely, focused on its quiet heart beat.

What a beautiful beat!

Now the tears had slightly faded,

and the glimmer of hope began to shine.

I realized it's okay to have that shadow,

It's alright to have some fears,

But always keep a little glimmer, a bit of hope,

Somewhere near and dear!

'' and the glimmer of hope began to shine. / I realized it's okay to have that shadow, /.. / But always keep a little glimmer, a bit of hope, '' hope is our reaction to the harsh adversities of life.. a psychological defense.. and a good help to regain faith in ourselves.. Thanks for sharing, Margarita Ciao
