The Play Of Light Poem by Shelly Stevens

The Play Of Light

I watch the
Play of light
Dance over your
Face in the
First waking of dawn
I wonder how
I could be
So lucky to
Find love again
When all love
Should be just
Someone's happy memories
Instead I feel
The hum of
Life once more
In the cold
Of a winter
Morning I want
To watch you
Before you wake
Before you turn
To me and
Open your eyes
And gift me
With your smile
I touch the
Soft of your
Shoulder with a
Gentle hand and
Whisper into the
Early morning light
"I love you…"
