The Moon Rises - Poem by Shelly Stevens

Over the suburbs
And I feel empty
And wanting
The cold blue
Warms not
My aching
Soul
My wants
Are few
You
And the Gulf
Warm waves
That wash
Away the pain
Strong arms
Keep me
Safe
The taste of
The sea
On your skin
My breath
Catches
And my heart
Hurts
Wanting you
Only
You
