The Poem Is Fine Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

The Poem Is Fine

Rating: 4.5

Poetry? ~ What does it mean?
To write verses daily between
Doing my work or thinking aloud
How these verses will to you sound.

Today, I’ve had to buy
A Rhyming Dictionary ~ why?
With so many poems ‘under-my-belt’
My thoughts no longer ‘run at-full-pelt’.

Have you noticed how my Style has changed?
The subject matter is in a different range.
I write of things that occur to me,
Whether or not profound they be.

But I do try to make them rhyme,
As often as I can, ~ but, not all the time,
And to myself be ever true,
When writing these poems for me and you.

Five verses I usually write,
But the first is the hardest to sound right,
The others run onwards, line by line,
Till the end is reached, and the poem is fine.

Boy, if you could just bottle all of that and sell it, I would buy some... my poems never flow that easily! Nice job, Jonathan. Warmest regards, CJ
