She shapes the words
as if to construct
a makeshift key
to unlock
her fears
and so, trap them
into words
tame them
into poems
stand
alone
in her loneliness
knowing
that love
is the only
voice
that can awaken
the silent page.
I've been reading with interest the comments you have made on Frankie's poems and I like the fact that you respect and admire what she tries to do...this poem is a wonderful crystalisation of all your interesting comments into an even more interesting poem. For anyone who attempts to tame words whillst wrestling with our fears this is indeed a true and lovely poem. Three cheers for Frankie for inspiring you to write it...hope she likes it! Dee Dee
Do, I know You? ? ? Well, you've got this one right in spades for many girls. Really nicely done..marci.~~

I like Frankie's poems and I too have been following your comments - having them wrapped up in this poem is wonderful. I like this 'putting into words ' what it is to put thoughts into words and make people think by squiggles on a page. Ya know it don't come easy and we all try and cry and sometimes we get it to work! Most times you get it to work all the time! We all face this struggle when we come to the whitness of the page and have to stain it with our minds and make it...make some sense...so that others can see it! Didn't think I'd like a poem about poetry but I like this one not only for what it says but how it says it. Makes me want to read Frankie all over again! GinaXXX
