The Praises Of Earth Mother Poem by Francis Duggan

The Praises Of Earth Mother

Of singing her praises could one ever tire
The one that the artists and writers inspire
To sketch and write stories of the one who supplies us with our every need
Yet wealthy humans abuse her for to satiate their greed
Our amazing Earth Mother the one who feeds all
Life forms including humans from the great to the small
Yet humans in the name of progress cut her old growth trees down
To build factories and houses in the big noisy town
Without thought for the wild creatures that they displace
Extinction of wildlife species has become a human disgrace
The earth that we live on that has created every financial billionaire
Should not be for us to destroy but with others creatures for to share
The one that the lovers of Nature respect and admire
Of singing the praises of our Earth Mother could one ever tire.
