It takes a rare eye to see a smell
Tho' man is endowed with vanishing virtues
It is the remains not the man,
That rot in the masses of the mould
In this unending world of mystery.
When you trust your wings like an eagle
And adore yourself like a poet's ink
Wait your target like a famished lion
And be sober akin a troubled Mind
Be kind indeed from the salt edge of your heart
Evade your enemies like the sun from your eyes
Tho' a cow, believe the ants lair is your home
Look beneath that sleek and deep image you see
And like a corpse, have a peace of mind
Slough your worries like a snake's skin
And be a slave to silence to hear the more
When due, withdraw like the sunset
Be not a stranger to holding secrets
Then six feet is not for the man within you
Like Daniel, surely you'd be a distinct man

Insightful and philosophical. A well articulated piece of poetry penned in poetic diction. A lovely poem indeed. Thanks for sharing and do keep it up. Please read my poem THE PHOENIX STRANGLER.
