The Pruned Dichotomy Poem by Rm. Shanmugam Chettiar

The Pruned Dichotomy

One’s family tree is dichotomy
But man has pruned it to monochotomy.
He has removed mother and fore-mothers,
And retained only father and forefathers.

Mother and her roots, two grandmothers
And their roots and four great grandmothers
And their roots and women so on upwards
Have been cut off from one’s identity.
