The Reactionary Poem by Kamran Qureshi

The Reactionary

He calls himself
A reactionary,
One more out of
The ordinary.

Led to believe
That he can justify
The blood on his mind
And get by.

Equipped with neither
The knowledge of the book
Nor the art of reason,
He has become
But a sad mutation
Of his heroes from the past.

Casting shades of lunacy
On sanity and verity,
He struggles to make sense
Of what seems to surround
Every corner he's around.

One day too soon,
One day too late, one day
Holding to his fallacy, he
Puts an end to his story,
While the world convulses,
Growing bloody and gory.
